What instruments do I play?

I have been fortunate to be able to find some beautiful instruments with which to develop a relationship. It took time, persistence, and luck!

Currently, my C flute is a Flutemakers’ Guild inline open hole B foot silver flute which was made about 1982. I use a cocus wood headjoint made by the incredibly talented and dear friend the late Alexander Eppler.

My alto flute is a Yamaha. I tried a lot of altos and vastly preferred the Yamaha. I use a grenadilla thick-wall headjoint made by the premier wood flutemaker Chris Abell.

My conical bore 9-key flute is a JTL, ca 1890. It has a C foot and the keywork uses rods so it is much more stable than many similar instruments.
